DRAM revenue during the third quarter increased 10% from the previous quarter to US$26.569 billion, according to analyst firm TrendForce.

Samsung was the largest vendor with revenue of US$11.68 billion during the quarter, an increase of 11.1% quarter-to-quarter, for a market share of 44%.

SK Hynix ranked second with revenue of US$7.225 billion, an increase of 7.5% from the previous quarter for a market share of 27.2%.

Micron took third place with revenue of US$6.72 billion, a rise of 11.8% quarter-to-quarter, for a market share of 22.9%.

TrendForce said the companies benefited from an increase in unit prices and the application of advanced process nodes. Demand from the server sector sustained the growth, it added.

Fixed prices of DDR4 8Gb 1Gx8 2133MHz, used in PCs, maintained its price of US$4.15 from the end of July up to the end of September.

Growth in the DRAM market is expected to slow down going forward, however, as fixed prices of DRAM have gone down as of October to US$3.71, TrendForce added.
