AI inspection equipment maker Twim is planning to launch mobile games to collect data that it will use in the development of smart factory solutions.

The company recently formed a division to enter the mobile gaming network, TheElec has learned.

Twim, founded in 2010, offers AI and machine vision-based smart factory solutions.

It first launched rule-based inspection equipment. In 2018, it began offering AI-based deep learning inspection solution, which studies various defects that can happen on a production line to increase precision. Twim listed on KOSDAQ on November 17.

It offers its AI software called Machined Vision Optimization based on AI, or MOAI, based on its own engine as well as the hardware equipment that uses this software called T-MEGA.

The company’s customers include those in the semiconductor, display and metalworking sectors.

Smart factory solutions need virtualized simulation data to check whether they are working properly.

These simulations are done continuously even after the solutions are applied to the factory.

Twim is planning to use this simulation data to develop mobile games, and then use the data from the games themselves back to the development of smart factory solutions, people familiar with the matter said.

The company was hiring people to work on its new division, which is planning various concepts for 2D and 3D games.
