Samsung on Tuesday unveiled three new logic chips aimed at automobiles.

Exynos Auto T5123, Exynos Auto V7 and S2VPS01 are modem chip, processor infotainment and power management IC, respectively.

The modem chip supports 5G telecommunication, which is first for such a chip aimed at automobiles, Samsung said.

It offers 5.1Gb download speed and supports both standalone and non-standalone modes, the tech giant said.

Exynos Auto T5123 packs two Arm’s Cortex-A55 and GNSS for telematics, Samsung added.

Exynos Auto V7 is being installed on Volkswagen’s ICAS 3.1 infotainment system, which was manufactured by LG Electronics’ vehicle component solution business, Samsung said.

The chip has a neural processing unit that supports virtual assistant services as well as voice, facial and motion recognition features, the tech giant said.

It has image compression technology and three HiFi 4 audio processors, Samsung added.

It packs eight 1.5GHz Cortex-A76 and eleven Mali-G76 GPU cores, which allows its to control four displays and twelve cameras at once, the tech giant said.

The GPUs can separated into two groups, allowing the digital dashboard, central information display and head-up display to act separately.

S2VPS01 received ASIL-B certification and has high safety features, Samsung added.
