Dawonsys issues 65.5 billion won worth of new shares

Firm to use fund to fuel chip and display kit production as well as nuclear fusion projects

Dawonsys said on Tuesday that it was issuing 65.6 billion won worth of new shares.

Around 3 million regular shares will be allotted in March 14, the company said. The new shares will begin trading in May.

The company said it plans to use the fund to fuel its new semiconductor and display equipment businesses.

It will also use it for various nuclear fusion projects, which is is supplying the power devices for, Dawonsys said.

One of these projects in the SPARC project run by Commonwealth Fusion Systems, which started off as a venture within the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

It plans to build a new factory at Daejeon to manufacture these power devices, the company added.
