Fab equipment maker Exicon said on Friday that it has supplied 31.59 billion won worth of inspection equipment to Samsung Electronics.

Most of the equipment are solid-state drive (SSD) testers, which are used to evaluate the performance and reliability of SSDs during the back-end process.

The testers will be used at Samsung’s plant in Onyang, South Korea, where the tech giant does its chip packaging and testing work.

An Exicon spokesperson said major memory makers such as Samsung is expected to expand their enterprise SSD supply for servers up to 2023.

This trend will benefit Exicon and the company is expecting more orders going forward, they said.

Analyst firm Omdia expects the global server SSD market is expected to grow to be worth from US$19.1 billion to US$33.6 billion in 2025.
