Printed circuit board (PCB) maker Isu Petasys said on Friday that it will be spending 54 billion won to expand its network PCB production capacity.

The company will be building a fourth factory at its plant in Daegu, which will be manufacturing multi-layer boards (MLB) like the other three factories there.

US company TTM is the largest maker of MLBs with 18 layers or more, followed by South Korea’s Isu Petasys.

Isu Petasys currently supplies its boards to companies such as Nokia, Cisco, Juniper and Arista.

People familiar with the matter said the South Korean PCB maker is also aiming to win Google as a customer.

Demand for MLBs is high due to the expansion of 5G networks. US vendors are also avoiding Chinese suppliers due to the trade dispute between the world’s two largest economies.
