Chinese smartphone makers launched 76 models of OLED smartphone up to May

Chinese smartphone makers had launched a total of 76 models of smartphones that use OLED panels up to May this year, analyst firm UBI Research said on Wednesday.

In the month of May alone, 20 new models were launched, the firm said.

Vivo was the top vendor in terms of OLED smartphones, having launched 21 models during the time period. Xiaomi came in second with 19 models.

Huawei had been the top vendor for OLED smartphones among Chinese companies before US sanctions.

Now Vivo and Xiaomi are quickly replacing it as the top vendors for OLED smartphones.

Meanwhile, UBI Research also noted that Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S series had the highest resolution OLED screen from 2018 to 2021 at 287ppi (pixel per inch).
