Nsys completes new battery formation kit factory

Nsys said on Monday that it has completed its new battery production equipment factory that will manufacture inspection and formation equipment.

The company spent 16.7 billion won on building the factory at Asan, which went into construction last year in October.

Nsys specializes in battery inspection equipment which it supplies to LG Energy Solution, Samsung SDI and SK On.

To LG Energy Solution, it is the exclusive supplier of vision inspection equipment used during the electrode process in battery production.

The equipment is used to inspect batteries at 300mm and 600mm lengths.

Nsys will also likely work closely with compatriot Kapjin, to which it is the second largest shareholder, in winning customers.

Kapjin specializes in back-end equipment, which goes well with inspection equipment.

The firm supplies Samsung SDI and SK On and recently won a deal to supply Morrow Batteries of Norway.

Kapjin is also the only company that is registered as a supplier to both Samsung SDI and SK On, something Nsys can utilize.
