Manufacturing Tech Conference to be held on Oct. 8

Firms to share insight on chip & display innovation

Leading South Korean semiconductor and display manufacturers, along with technology companies from both home and abroad will gather together to share insight on smart factory and digital innovation on Oct. 8 at L-Center in Southern Seoul.

The conference, entitled Manufacturing Tech Conference 2019, will be co-hosted tech news platform The Elec and IT media Byline Network.

SK hynix’s IM executive Lee Han-joo will deliver a speech on examples of innovation the firm pursued to create a smart factory eco-system, including establishing private cloud systems and process innovation.

SK hynix, the world’s No.1 memory chipmaker, has already successfully achieved complete automation of its chip production lines. This means much more data to process, an issue the chipmaker has solved by gathering the data together and developing a platform capable of analyzing the data and offering related insight.

From Samsung Display, the world’s largest OLED display maker, the head of its smart IT team will deliver a presentation on the smart factory technologies the firm is pursuing.

In 2018, Samsung Electronics said in a smart factory mutual growth contract it signed with the government to provide an annual 10 billion won for the next five years to help SMEs embrace wider digital transformation.

SK Innovation will talk about how its smart factory success stories, while Siemens introduces the ‘Industry 4.0,’ which is considered as an industry success story showing how the firm applied smart factory technology to its factory.

Attendees from companies such as Oracle, HPE, Aruba Networks, Schneider Electric and Ericsson-LG will come to talk about how to apply high technology such as AI, IoT and 5G to optimize manufacturing procedures.
