Kang to serve in both posts

DuPont Korea CEO CEO Kang Sang-ho has been appointed to concurrently head the group’s global semiconductor business, DuPont Electronics & Imaging, the company said on Oct. 1.

DuPont’s chip business is aimed at taking the lead in the global IC material market. As the head of the firm’s worldwide chip business, Kang will be placed in charge of handling microlithography materials, CMP pads, cleansing fluids, silicon, high-tech chip packaging and more.

Since 1998, Kang has worked for seven years at firms such as Rohm and Haas, and Dow Chemical as the counterpart for Samsung Electronics.

Between 2005 and 2007, he served as the global marketing manager for Si-ARC and memory chips at Dow Chemical. He returned to Korea in 2009 to head the sales and marketing team in the display business. In 2013, the CEO became the head of Dow Chemical Vietnam and its solar film business. In 2017, DuPont merged with Dow Chemical.

Kang received his masters from Hanyang University, then went to attain an MBA from KAIST.
