Today is The Elec’s 1st year anniversary.

A year ago, The Elec was born as an online news platforms focused exclusively on electronic component manufacturing. Despite South Korea’s global prowess in the areas of semiconductors, displays, batteries and other electronic components, we have lacked expert media coverage.

The Elec was created to address this information vacuum, and for the past year we have been churning out exclusive stories every week on related issues. And it’s not just the South Korean media but those from overseas that also looks to The Elec for scoops; needless to say, our publication has been quoted by media outlets all over the world on real-time basis.

Reflecting this trend, our readership figures have been growing exponentially. According to global website tracking firm Similar Web, the number of The Elec visitors hit 204,000 from April to September. The average session duration was 3 minutes and 18 seconds, while the page views per visitor was 2.59. In terms of the traffic source, 51.23% visited The Elec website via web search, while 42.76% was from direct visits. The remainder was through SNS or indirect web links.

On a daily basis, an average 8,000 to 10,000 people visited The Elec. The revisiting rate was 50%.

On the other hand, two of our key rivals A and B have an average each showed an average 1 minute 24 seconds and 2 minutes and 52 seconds. In terms of session duration. Their page views per visitor stood at 2.29 and 1.84, respectively. Please bear in mind that both of these outlets far exceed The Elec in terms of both revenues and staff.

To add to our expertise and offer more diversity for our readers, we have also begun to upload videos on Youtube since September, and the number of followers there are also snowballing.
