HFR chosen to supply 5G fronthaul equipment for Verizon

Revenues estimated at KRW 302.2b for 2020

South Korea’s HFR has been chosen to supply 5G fronthaul for Verizon, the largest telecom company in the US, according to a report by Hana Financial Investment on Feb.26.

On the back of the deal, HFR is likely to post annual revenues of up to KRW 302.2 billion and an operating profit of KRW 39.7 billion, according to Hana.

In 2019, the company posted sales of KRW 157.2 billion to reflect a 16.5% on-year increase and an operating profit of KRW 43.7 billion to reflect a 52% on-year rise.

HFR will be collaborating with its partner Fujitsu Network Communications to provide eCPRI packet-based 5G fronthaul equipment to Verizon.

HFR has previously supplied Wavelength Division Multiplexing fronthaul equipment for Verizon’s 4G LTE network.
