LG Uplus has launched a dedicated 5G network service for the enterprise, the company said Thursday.

It will use servers and radio separate from the network it uses for consumers and all data will be ciphered, the telco said.

The network will also only allow access from preregistered handsets of clients.

Data cost will also be 50% cheaper compared to consumer networks, the carrier said, and clients will be allocated a certain amount of data that they can group together with those they are already using on their facilities.

The service will be suited for smart factories and heavy industries that require precision operations, LG Uplus said.

It trialed the service with local clients such as GS EPE, Doosan Infracore, Busan Port Authority and other LG affiliates beforehand for reliability, it stressed.
