Samsung Electronics has launched a new outdoor TV dubbed The Terrace in the US, the company announced Thursday, local time.

The model boasts a 4K resolution QLED display and supports up to 2000 nits of brightness, which means it will be clearly visible in daylight, the Korean company said.

The Terrace also has a water and dust resistance rating of IP55, which will allow it to withstand different weathers expected in outdoor settings. It also has anti-glaring coating, Samsung said.

The TV will go on sale in the US and Canada later this month. It will be available in Germany, Australia and New Zealand within the year, while the sales date for South Korea is yet to be announced.

It will come in 55-inch, 65-inch and 75-inch models. The 55-inch version is priced at $3,499, the 65-inch $4,999 and 75-inch $6,499, far pricier than their indoor counterparts with similar specifications.

Samsung also launched the Terrace Soundbar, which can be mounted to the wall or on the new TV. It is also IP55 water and dust resistant.

The Terrace is the fourth in the South Korean behemoth’s Lifestyle brand of TVs.

The world’s largest TV maker first launched The Serif, which resembles a picture stand, in 2016, followed by picture-frame shape The Frame in 2017 and vertical shaped The Sero in 2019.

The Frame was the most successful of the three models.

US’s SunBrite is the world’s largest outdoor TV maker, and offering more affordable models compared to Samsung. Its 44-inch TV costs $1,500 and 55-inch version $2,000. It uses Liquid Crystal Display, while the backlight is comprised of LED.

Samsung adds a quantum dot film on its LCD TVs for its QLED brand.
