LG Uplus will assist in South Chungcheong Province’s planned cluster to foster content businesses in the region, the telco said Monday.

The telco and Chungnam Culture Technology Industry Agency will collaborate in the fostering of a planned research and business development cluster for virtual reality and augmented reality contents in the province.

The cluster is expected to go live by 2024 with 55.6 billion, or around US$44 million, earmarked for its development. It will be built on some 200,000 meter-square of space near KTX’s Cheonan Asan Station.

LG Uplus will provide technological support and help in building a next-generation network system there.
