Samsung Display has won the Display of the Year Award from Society for Information Display (SID), the company said.

The company won the top award for its foldable display used in Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy Fold.

Dubbed Infinity Flex, the display is 7.3-inch in size when unfolded and 4.6-inch when folded.

It has a plastic cover on it that protects it from damages when folding.

Samsung Display also supplied the clamshell display panel used by Samsung Electronics for the Galaxy Z Flip launched this year.

The display maker used ultrathin glass instead of plastic for cover in its latest display.

Samsung Display has now won the Display of the Year Award four times in total.

It won the award in 2014 for its 5.68-inch flexible OLED. In 2015 it secured the award for its bended OLED and in 2017 through its quad-bended OLED.
