It is a 1st for a Korean conglomerate
Samsung Electronics has installed an in-house check-up center of COVID-19 at one of its chip production facilities, the company said on Monday.
The center was installed its campus in Hwaseong, south of Seoul. The center comprises of two containers __ one is for collection of samples and another for diagnosis __ and will be run by six professionals, including a doctor.
Samsung is funding the enterprise on its own with approval from Hwaseong City Hall and the local public health center.
Having the in-house center will allow employees check-up faster and lessen the burden of local hospitals, the South Korean tech giant said.
The conglomerate will review later whether to install such centers at its other facilities as well.
