LG Electronics said on Wednesday its in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) co-developed with Jaguar Land Rover was named the best connected technology by European automobile media jury Autobest.
The IVI system won the SMARTBEST award 2020 by the jury. The system is on Jaguar, Land Rover and Range Rover.
Autobest said the system had dual modem which supported high connectivity. LG’s IVI system can, for instance, allow the driver to update the system’s software while simultaneously stream music or use the navigation.
Autobest also gave high points for the user interface of LG’s system that allows around 90% of its function to be activated within two touches.
This allows the driver to focus on driving while quickly turning on the necessary functions. LG’s system also has Bluetooth that can allows for two smartphones to be connected simultaneously.
Autobest was formed in 2000. The jury is made out of 31 automobile journalists from 31 countries. It gives awards in eight different categories every year.
