Samsung Electronics said on Thursday that it has begun roll out of its One UI 3 interface along with the Android 11 update for Galaxy smartphones.
Those with a Galaxy S20, S20 Plus and S20 Ultra in the US, South Korea and parts of Europe will get the update first.
Those with the Galaxy Note20 and Galaxy Z Fold 2 will also get the update at a later date.
Samsung said it has improved convenience on its new One UI 3 interface. Consumers can now control their music players or check their schedules on widgets on the locked screen without unlocking their phones.
Messaging app notifications are grouped front and center so you can quickly read and respond to your messages. The interface also now offers a full screen video call layout.
It also offers improved autofocus and auto-exposure. The Gallery has updated organization categories __ swiping up a photo will show related group of photos. Edited photos can reverted back to their original form even after they are saved.
Dark mode or Mobile Hotspot can be turned on with swipe and tap by customizing the Quick Panel. Consumers can can pin their commonly used sharing destinations, whether it be a contact, messaging app or email.
In August, Samsung has said it will offer three generation of OS upgrades for its Galaxy smartphones going forward.
