Offers 98% energy efficiency in rectifiers, companies say
Infineon Technologies said on Tuesday that it has provided its CoolGaN device to Delta’s rectifiers.
Its GaN devices follow JEDEC standards and has lifetimes over 15 years, the German company said.
This makes it fit for industrial telecom and server SMPS, the company said.
CoolGaN 600 V e-mode HEMT in the DFN8x8 package is a key component in Delta’s DPR 3000E EnergE rectifiers that allows for an energy efficiency of 98%, Infineon said.
The rectifiers will be able to support new 5G telecom networks for mobile operators, the company added.
Infineon’s CoolGaN chips deliver “excellent performance” to Delta’s 3000E rectifiers, which has power density of 56.8 W/in³, Eton Lee, general manager of Delta said in a statement,.
