Samsung Electronics on Wednesday unveiled its new notebook series the Galaxy Book Pro that sport OLED panels at its Unpacked event.
Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360 will come in 15.6-inch and 13.3-inch sizes. The 360 model has a 360-degree revolving screen and offers S Pen support.
A total of four new models were introduced at the event, all of them with FHD Super AMOLED (1920x1080) display panels.
Galaxy Book Pro 13.3-inch model will come at at thickness of 11.2mm and weigh 868g. Samsung said it was its thinnest and lightest Galaxy Book notebook to date.
Galaxy Book Pro 360’s 13.3-inch and 15.6-inch models will come in 11.5mm and 11.9mm thicknesses, respectively. They will each weight 1.04kg and 1.39kg.
Samsung said the display panel of the notebooks have a color space of DCI-P3 120%. They also have a contrast ratio of a million to one. The panel also received HDR 500 certification from VESA, the South Korean tech giant said.
What the company calls an Intelligent Color Engine will automatically fine-tune your color space depending on the task at hand, it also said. For example, when playing games, the screen will be tuned to be clear, while when watching a movie, the Adobe RGB Mode will kick into optimize the color to represent the creator’s intentions.
Galaxy Book Pro series is also powered by Intell’s Gen 11 core processors and Iris Xe graphics. The touch pad has been increased by 23% to their predecessor to make scrolling and pinch zoom easier, Samsung said.
The devices will support Wi-Fi 6E. They also come with 65W super-fast charging with USB-C Type port.
The notebooks, which run on Windows, can synced with Samsung’s Android-running Galaxy smartphones, it added.
