System semiconductor company Coasia has recorded 112.8 billion won in sales and 2.7 billion won in operating income in the first quarter.
Sales increased 11% from a year prior. The company turned a profit compared to the same time period in 2020.
Coasia said high sales from its IT component business, which sells LED, sound components and camera modules, helped the growth.
Its system semiconductor business also contributed sales over the half of it made for the full year of 2020 during the quarter, the company said.
Coasia said it saw increased supply of LEDs for environmentally friendly cars.
It shipped its sound components to three major Chinese smartphone vendors as well, the firm said.
Its camera modules were used in Samsung Galaxy smartphones’ front and back cameras, the company added.
Coasia also said it expects sales from system semiconductor design to grow this year. The chips it design will be manufactured starting in the second half of the year.
The firm will also stregthen sales activity of its Taiwanese affiliate Coasia Electronics in the US and China, the company said.
Another of its affiliate, Coasia Nexell, which is an official partner of Samsung in Exynos chips, is also expected to expand its business areas this year, Coasia said.
