
OLED emission market will grow 9% a year on average from 2021 to 2025, market research firm UBI Research said.
The market will be worth US$2.25 billion in 2025, it said.
Despite Chinese panel makers expanding their OLED production line, the OLED emission material market will be led by their South Korean counterparts.
South Korean panel makers’ purchase of emission material will grow on average 5.8% a year from 2021 to 2025.
Their spending will reach US$1.61 billion in 2025, accounting for 71.6% of the total in the same year.
For the total spending for 2021 to 2025, South Korean companies will account for 72.4%.
Chinese panel makers’ purchase will increase 8.7% per year in the same time period to reach US$640 million in 2025.
Samsung Display will be the biggest buyer of emission material. The company will account for 43.5% of the total from 2021 to 2025.
This will be followed by LG Display’s 28.9% and BOE’s 17.5%.
RGB OLED emission material will account for 78% of the total in the five years, while WRGB OLED will account for 20.4%.
QD-OLED launching later this will account for less than 2%, UBI Research said.
