DRAM and NAND flash prices are expected to increase again in the third quarter as they did in the second quarter, according to market research firm TrendForce.
DRAM prices are expected to increase between 3% to 8% in the third quarter, the firm said.
DRAM prices increased between 18% to 23% in the second quarter.
Meanwhile, NAND flash prices are expected to increase between 5% to 10% in the third quarter. Earlier, TrendForce has expected NAND flash prices to increase between 3% to 8% in the quarter.
PC and smartphone makers have already stocked up their memory inventory, the firm said, so a sudden increase in demand for memory was unlike in these sectors.
However, demand for memory in servers will remain strong and this will cause overall price to increase.
