4th approval

SK Hynix’s plan to buy Intel’s NAND business unit was approved by antitrust authorities in Taiwan on Thursday.
The approval follows those made in the US, Europe and South Korea.
Last year in October, SK Hynix had announced that it plans to buy Intel’s NAND and solid-state drive business units for US$9 billion.
The South Korean firm needs approval from antitrust authorities in 8 countries for the deal to pull through.
The deal is currently being reviewed in China, the UK, Singapore and Brazil.
SK Hynix said it will work to have the deal gain all the necessary approval within the year.
