SsangYong Motor said on Tuesday that it has begun mass production of its first electric vehicle, the Korando Emotion.

Korando Emotion was designed based on its small SUV Tivoli. The car was first shown off with a teaser image in July last year.

The car will be launched in Europe first in October. Launch in South Korea will be decided later due to the current component shortage.

Meanwhile, SsangYong, which is in court receivership due to financial difficulties, on Monday has turned in its plan to return to solvency. It plans to sell some of its assets, cut payments to executives and commence other measures.
