Synopsys said on Monday that it will acquire Bistel’s semiconductor and flat panel display solutions.
The acquisition will broaden Synopsys’ process control solutions for chip fabs, the company said.
It will be able to offer an integrated and comprehensive yield management and prediction solution to enhance production quality and efficiency, it added.
Synopsys offers semiconductor electronic design automation tool. Its computer programs are used to verify semiconductor circuit and errors.
South Korea-based Bistel was founded in 2000 and offers equipment engineering systems for fab equipment. The software collects data from the equipment and alerts managers when there are problems with them.
The pair’s deal is expected to close in Synopsys’ fiscal fourth quarter for 2021.
