
PNT has bought the factory lands at Gumi owned by Asahi PD Glass.
The South Korean battery equipment maker will build a new factory there, which has a space of 66,000 meter-square.
PNT is also planning to build a separate new production line at Gumi near its headquarters next year.
The firm has 600 billion won remaining orders and is planning to meet this by expanding its production capacity.
PNT manufactures roll to roll equipment used in electrolyte and copper foil production processes in battery production.
Its equipment can coat 120 meters per minute of 1400mm width foils.
Earlier this month, it won an order worth 50 billion won for coaters from China’s Loongson.
In May it won an order for coaters from France’s Saft. It is also in talks to supply equipment to Vietnam’s VinFast.
PNT is aiming to supply 100GWh worth of battery production equipment.
In the first half of this year, the company recorded 93 billion won in revenue and 19 billion won in operating income. Up to 70% of its revenue comes from battery equipment.
