According to SEMI
Global fab equipment sales hit its record quarterly high during the second quarter, according to data from SEMI.
Sales in South Korea, China, Taiwan and Japan increased solidly during the quarter.
Sales reached US$24.9 billion during the quarter, an increase of 48% from a year ago.
Sales increased 5% from the previous quarter.
It is the highest sales figure to date for fab equipment.
China accounted for most of sales with US$8.22 billion, a rise of 79% from a year ago.
South Korea was second with US$6.62 billion, an increase of 48% year-on-year.
Taiwan was third with US$5.04 billion, followed by Japan’s US$1.77 billion and US’ US$1.68 billion.
