Wonik PNE said on Wednesday that it will be supplying Swedish battery maker Northvolt with charge discharge equipment.
The kits will be supplied to Vasteras in Sweden, where the battery maker has an R&D center and production line.
The contract will last from September 7 to December 31. Wonik PNE didn’t disclose the size of the deal.
In April last year, the South Korean firm supplied Northvolt with its formation and cycler equipment to Vasteras.
It attempted to win another order from the Swedish company in July of that year but lost to Lead China.
Wonik PNE’s latest kits will likely be used in Northvolt’s second factory in the region, which has a capacity of 45GWh, much larger than the first factory’s 16GWh.
The Swedish firm also has a 40GWh factory at Skelleftea, which it plans to expand to 60GWh by 2023.
Its joint venture with Volkswagen is also building a 24GWh factory in Germany.
