Solidvue will lead a government-backed project worth 3.3 billion won to develop a CMOS lidar sensor and AI SoC for application to a fixed lidar.
The company was founded in 2020 is comprised of professors from Sungkyungkwan University and UNIST that focuses on lidar sensors.
Solidvue will collaborate with SOS Lab, Seoul National University and Korea Electronics Technology Institute in the national project.
The startup will aim to develop a sensor core made out of high sensitivity SPAD device that has a range of over 150 meters and a signal processing IC.
SOS Lab will develop the platform for the lidar and the light-emitting part, which will be used to evaluate the sensor SoC.
Seoul National University and Korea Electronics Technology Institute will co-develop the AI accelerator that can run the object recognition algorithm, the SoC’s hardware architecture and operating software.
