SK Hynix has recorded its highest annual revenue to date in 2021.
The South Korean memory chip maker said it recorded 43 trillion won in revenue and 12.4 trillion won in operating income during the entire year.
The revenue figure is its highest to date, beating its previous 2018 record of 40.4 trillion won.
SK Hynix said it reacted flexibly to demand for DRAMs in the PC and server sectors.
The company said it focused on sales of high-end products for profitability as demand for remote IT products increased despite the ongoing global supply chain issues.
It also said its sales of NAND flash also beat the market average. SK Hynix’s NAND flash business returned to the black during the third quarter thanks to demand for its 128-layer NAND flash product.
The South Korean company said it expected supply chain issues to ease during the second half of this year, while demand for memory chips is expected to continue to increase.
The company also added that it expected its sales of solid-state drives to double this year as it wrapped up the acquisition of Intel’s NAND business late last year.
