For TFT and QD layer
Corning said on Tuesday that it has supplied its Astra Glass to Samsung Display for use in quantum dot (QD)-OLED panels.
Each QD-OLED panel uses two sheets of the glasses: one for the thin-film transistor and another for the QD layer.
Samsung Display’s QD-OLED panel will be used in TVs made by Samsung Electronics and Sony as well as monitors from Dell.
The South Korean panel maker is expected to manufacture around a million units of the panel this year.
