The first quarter earnings of suppliers to Samsung recovered thanks to the launch of Galaxy S22 smartphones, their earnings report showed.

The combined revenue of 22 suppliers of components to the tech giant increased 28% this year compared to 2021 to 3 trillion won.

Their combined operating profit jumped 179% to 143.6 billion won over the same time period.

Of the total revenue increase, 80% came from printed circuit board (PCB) makers and camera module companies.

Flexible PCB maker BH recorded 366.2 billion won in revenue and 22.4 billion won in operating profit during the quarter, an increase of 164% in terms of revenue and return to profitability.

The company supplies its rigid and flexible boards to both Samsung and Apple and benefited from the popularity of their smartphones.

Interflex, also a flexible PCB maker, saw its revenue jump 62% year-on-year. The company provides its digitizer, a kind of flexible PCB to support stylus, for the S Pen-supporting Galaxy S22 Ultra.
