Starting in 2026
LG Chem said it will be supplying cathode to Prime Planet Energy & Solutions, the battery joint venture between Toyota and Panasonic.
PPES was formed in April 2020 and manufactures prismatic batteries in Japan and China.
LG Chem will be supplying its cathode to PPES’ factory in Japan with a target date of 2026.
The South Korean chemical giant is the parent company of battery maker LG Energy Solution.
