SK Group announced on the 25th that SK Innovation, SK Telecom, and SK Hynix will participate in ‘CES 2019’ that will be held in Las Vegas starting January 8. It is the first time for an affiliate of SK Group to participate in CES together. The booth will be set up at the North Hall where global car manufacturers gather.
SK Innovation is the first South Korean energy and chemical industry to participate. They introduce Electric Vehicle (EV) Battery, Energy Storage System (ESS) Battery, and LiBS (LiBS) for lithium-ion battery. SK Telecom’s major display item is self-driving technology such as LiDAR and HD Map update. Lida, a single photon, is the first product that applied quantum sensing technology of IDQ, a Swiss company that was acquired in February this year, and is capable of detecting long-range targets over 300 meters.
SK Hynix is going to introduce a memory semiconductor solution. It is going to exhibit self-driving, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), D-RAM for vehicles that applied to Infotainment and NAND Flash. It is also planning to introduce D-RAM, HBM (High-Random Memory), and SSD (Solid State Drive) that are used for communication and data analysis between vehicle and data centers.
SK Group said “This joint participation is to implement ‘Deep Change’ (fundamental reform) that is being pushed by entire companies” and also said “we are going to take the advantageous position first in the future mobility market by concentrating the state-of-art technologies of the relay companies.
