South Korea's largest telecom company KT Corp. began operating its second-generation of hotel-service robot – the N bot – enabled by artificial intelligence (AI) as of April 30, the company said.
N bot was first launched in December 2019 to service guests, such as by delivering amenities at night time so that hotels can employ a minimum number of employees.
The latest N bot will be servicing at a total of 211 guest rooms at Novotel Ambassador Dongdaemun. The loading capacity of the newest N bot is 1.5-times that of the first generation of N bots, and it moves at a speed that is 40% faster. Its batteries have also become 30% more energy-efficient, the company said.
KT stressed the robot could be a huge help in the post-coronavirus period as customers still are showcasing less preference for face-to-face meetings.
