It will provide 15,000 units for low-income families
Samsung Electronics will supply 15,000 units of TVs for the visually impaired and hearing impaired, the company said on Tuesday.
It is for a government project to help low-income families and those who are disabled.
Samsung will supply 40-inch Full HD smart TVs, it said, with accessibility strengthened. A smart magnifying feature will allow smartphone cameras to be mirrored on the TV to enlarge letters and images.
A feature called expanded focus will increase certain characters on the screen such as the channel number, volume bar and menu icons.
Samsung’s Visual Display (VD) business had a dedicated personnel within its product strategy team that oversees accessibility to TVs for the disabled.
