Hanmi Semiconductor has accrued 2020 unit sales for its vision placement equipment, the company on Wednesday.
The equipment are used to clean, dry, inspect, select and load semiconductor packages.
Hanmi began producing them back in 1998. A company spokesperson said the company had an 80% global market share in the equipment.
In sales, the South Korean company has accumulated 1.9 trillion won from the equipment, it said.
Hanmi CEO Kim Min-hyun said its latest model, Vision Placement-6.0 SUPREME, had 227 relevant patents applied. It was 20 times more productive than the first generation of the equipment and had a smart machine function that increases accuracy and convenience.
It took on average over 400 hours and 160 experts to make one unit of the equipment, Kim said.
Meanwhile, Hanmi said in its second quarter conference call in July that it expected annual sales this year to exceed that of its record of 217.1 billion won in 2018.
