Apple has announced its first ever over-ear headphone Airpods Max on Tuesday.
The headphones will go on sale on December 15 for US$549. It is priced at 719,000 won in South Korea.
The headphones have active noise canceling like Airpods Pro.
Its rival is BOSE, which hasn’t been available in Apple’s online stores since September.
The center canopy on the headband uses a neat mesh material for comfort. Weight on the body is distributed as to not put pressure on a wearer’s head. It has a stainless steel headband frame.
The headphone has H1 chip in each ear cup with a custom acoustic design and advanced software. Each chip has 10 audio cores capable of 9 billion operations per second computational audio offers a “breakthrough listening experience that includes Adaptive EQ, Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency mode, and spatial audio,” Apple said.
Spacial audio offers an “immersive” experience for content recorded in 5.1, 7.1, and Dolby Atmos, the iPhone maker added.
Airpods Max’s price will be an obstacle for most consumers __ Airpods Pro costs 329,000 won and Airpods 199,000 won.
The headphones comes in gray, silver, sky blue, green and pink. Sales date for South Korea is yet to be announced.
