Komemtec will begin producing polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) membrane electrode assembly (MEA) for hydrogen fuel-cell stack next year, TheElec has learned.
The company is planning to build a factory for their production at Yeong Gwang county in South Jeolla Province by June next year.
A person familiar with the matter said Komemtec was in talks with companies based in Germany and the UK to supply the MEA.
The South Korean firm had secured technology to produce PTFE for the MEA’s production, they added.
Komemtec began manufacturing PTFE membrane in 2013. It signed a collaboration agreement in the field with Hyundai Motor in 2015.
