Car interior firm Seoyon E-hwa was considering entering the urban air mobility (UAM) market, TheElec has learned.
The company, a supplier to Hyundai Motor Group, recently began research and development in interiors of UAM vehicles, people familiar with the matter said.
UAM vehicles are flying vehicles designed for cities. They liftoff and park vertically and are being proposed as a way to avoid condensed traffic in cities of the future.
Seoyon E-hwa is focusing its research on user experience with the use of environmentally friendly materials and touch panel technology.
Last month, it unveiled a jog-dial that uses a magnet to operate the touch panel at an industry tradeshow in South Korea.
Seoyon E-hwa was formed in 2014 when it split off from the holding company Seoyon.
