Overlay equipment maker Auros Technology is aiming to expand its revenue from overseas next year to account for 30% of its total, TheElec has learned.
Overseas revenue currently accounts for 10% of its total revenue.
It is aiming to win new customers, mostly in Greater China, to meet its aim, people familiar with the matter said.
Auros offers overlay equipment used in photolithography process of wafer fabrication.
The kit is used to see whether the circuits on the top and bottom sides of the wafer are aligned correctly.
The precision of the equipment is crucial for semiconductor companies to maintain a high yield.
Auros is aiming to push its 12-inch high-end overlay equipment and 8-inch overlay equipment.
It is elevated its Chinese subsidiary to cover Greater China, while also forming a subsidiary in Silicon Valley.
The company is in talks with multiple Chinese memory and foundry companies, the people added.
Auros currently relies on SK Hynix for around 90% of its revenue. It began supplying its kit to Samsung during the second half of this year, its first with the conglomerate in eight years.
