Healthcare firm Answer is planning to expand the availability of its Rora VR virtual reality service to more exercise machines, TheElec has learned.
The service was only available for indoor cycling machines but will now be available on running machines and steppers.
Rora VR machines were by attaching sensors on indoor cycling machines and syncing it with a head mount display combined with a smartphone.
A dedicated app offers seven locations via VR video for the wearer of the display to look at during exercising. The app is available on Android and Answer is planning to launch an iOS version soon.
The feature works on any indoor cycling machines but the company is planning to launch a dedicated machine of its own design suitable for children and the elderly.
Answer is also planning to support rowing and horse-riding machines at a later date.
The company, founded in 2010, specializes in big data and security solutions, which it supplies to conglomerates Samsung, SK Telecom and KT. It expanded into VR in 2015.
