Surplus Global said on Thursday that it has shipped its first 300mm test wafer from its cleanroom for foundry research.
The company launched a new service earlier this year that offers a test bed to make wafers for customers.
Surplus Global offers to make 300 thin film test wafers and analysis of electric characteristics of wafers for these customers.
The company said these wafers are made in a Class100 cleanroom.
Patterns on the wafers are copies and the patterns are not actually printed on them, allowing customers to save cost but meet the requirements for reliability test for customers, Surplus Global had said.
Its first 300mm test wafer that it shipped to a customers was made to evaluate the chemical mechanical polishing material and performance of equipment.
It will allow its customers to secure productivity and quality for their products, the company said.
Surplus Global also plans to offer thermal oxide test wafers at a later date.
The company formed its fab equipment cluster in Yongsan last year and the 634 meter-square cleanroom for the foundry research service is located at the cluster.
