Jun Young-hyun promoted to vice chairman
Samsung Electro-Mechanics also names new CEO
Samsung SDI said on Tuesday that it has named Yunho Choi, previously the head of Samsung Electronics’ Management Support Department, as its new CEO.
Current CEO Jun Young-hyun will be promoted to vice chairman and oversee the company’s ESG efforts.
New CEO Choi joined Samsung Electronics 1987 and had worked in management support departments of various Samsung business units.
Samsung SDI said his experience in global operations and expertise in finance will help the company’s global competence.
Meanwhile, Samsung Electro-Mechanics named Jang Deok-hyun, previously the executive vice president at Samsung System LSI, as its new CEO.
Jang previously headed various chip development teams at Samsung’s chip division.
Outgoing CEO Kyehyun Kyung has been named the CEO of Samsung Electronics’ chip division.
Kyung is the first executive to return to Samsung Electronics after being named to a post at an affiliate out of Samsung Electronics.
